Costs

Physiotherapy consultations

Consultations attract a rebate with most private health insurance policies that have physiotherapy extras cover. Please check with your insurer and bring your private health card with you.

Your GP can organise an Enhanced Primary Care plan for you through the Medicare system if you have a complex and chronic condition such as incontinence or pelvic organ prolapse, which requires management by multiple professionals. This is only valid for consultations and not for group or class therapy. It is up to your GP to decide your eligibility. Bring your Medicare card and a debit card if you hope to claim online with us.

The rebate from Medicare will not completely cover the cost of your consultation; i.e. A Gap Fee applies.

Pilates Sessions - Clinical & Class

Class descriptions are available on the Services/Pilates section of this website.

ALL PATIENTS MUST ATTEND A 1 ON 1 CONSULTATION PRIOR TO YOUR FIRST CLASS. This is to ensure we have good knowledge of your particular needs & health history. Clinical Pilates patients this also includes your individual program written up for you, an introduction to the Clinical Pilates equipment and a home exercise program (if requested). This is also a legal requirement of receiving rebates on your health insurance as well. You may also need a follow up appointment that may involve a Real Time Ultrasound assessment, further development of your Pilates exercises and/or correct technique/confidence on specialised Pilates equipment.

We recommend an reassessment appointment every 6 months (clinical pilates) or when anything significant changes
i.e. childbirth, surgery, injury etc. This is to ensure your Clinical Pilates program or type of class is the best fit for you. Please see price list above for all appointment pricing.

Pilates is rebatable with most private health insurance physiotherapy extras policies, please check with your insurer using the relevant code for you particualy class, on the Services/Pilates page of this website. Please note that some classes may come under more than one code depending on your health fund eg, Antenatal Pilates may be claimed using code 561 (class physiotherapy) or 595 (antenatal physiotherapy). Rebates vary between funds. Please note that it is usually mandatory for those receiving private health rebates for Clinical Pilates to have at least an annual assessment appointment in order to continue receiving a rebate. Please check with your own health fund about their policies. It is your responsibility to check if you are covered by your health insurer.

Pilates sessions are generally up to 55 minutes long with a maximum of 8 (class Pilates) or 5 (Clinical Pilates) ladies per session working along side each other with the Physiotherapist leading the session. During a Clinical Pilates session patients completing their individual program will generally receiving approximately a total of 10 to 15 minutes each throughout the session with the physiotherapist for assessment, technique correction, program modification and treatment. Sessions MAY BE reduced in duration if there are 3 or less people in the session. If there is only one patient booked for a session we may ask you rescheduled your session.

HICAPS is available if you are paying casually. Patients who purchase a class pass will receive their tax invoice after each completed class via email.
